Surely would like to have AoE spells (e.g., firestorm) able to be cast on a particular spot as well as foe... kinda like laying down a mortar barage in front of a charging horde. Another option along the same line -- to be able to target your own player (e.g., monk) -- without harm to him/her of course! (lol) Don't know if this would infringe on ranger traps or cause imbalances... just something to ponder.

Still think the academy segment could have a better "feel" but I posted on that in some detail in the depths of the March suggestions.

What I would like to see:
  • More Character Slots: I want to play all the classes in PvE and still have at elast one slot for a PvP char. 8 slots would perfect IMO.
  • Guild Battles should be able to be started ONLY by guild officers: I know I'm not alone here. There are jerks out there that like to join a guild and trash their record with solo Guild Battles.
  • More PvP arenas: You're probably already working on this, but the more the merrier. Variety is great.

New features I liked:
  • Unrated Guild Battles. A great way to train players new to GvG.
  • Worlds at War seems great so far. Even though I got slaughtered in secs in the Underworld, the missions are great, and I like the challenge. I noticed that America won more while I was online, but that could have been because of the time difference.
  • Voice overs were great, although the tombs voice got on my nerves after a while.
  • Nice new loading screens
  • Chat channels

Post Death magic and corpse exploitation...

Similar suggestions may or may not have been posted on previous suggestion threads, and ideas like these may already have been proposed and shot down in game development, but the following are a few ideas to increase the utility of death magic based necromancers in PvP, specifically with regards to the spells that require corpse exploitation in a corpse-poor environment. Perhaps it would be possible to provide an alternative to corpse exploitation. For instance, if one of the recently deceased is currently unavailable, a necromancer might:

A) ...incur a Death Penalty of varying degree when they try to utilize a skill that requires corpse exploitation. I.e. if they try to raise an undead minion or two in preparation for a fight, the Necromancer could eat a small DP for each minon they raise, which would go away when the minion expires.

B) ...exploit a carried proxy item in place of a corpse; a necromantic fetish of some sort. Some ways these items could be acquired might include purchase, crafting, or looting off of enemies defeated personally by the necromancer, but not exploited for death magic (perhaps a relative level minimum might need to be instituted for this option, so there aren't 20th level necromancers harvesting 0 level monsters for such a valuable item).

Obviously, these suggestions would not be attractive or viable for all skills that require an exploitable corpse; they would be useless for the teleportation skills, for instance. However, if perhaps these ideas haven't been considered yet, I humbly offer my two cents...

PleasePleasePleasePleasePleasePlease!

- A de-customize option, or just remove customization from the game period (although that means you can't ever introduce pickpocketing or item-pooping, later).

ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouTh ankYouThankYou!

- The chat filtering works well for me. On a couple of occasions already, I've had a couple of offers for items at once, which turned into mini auctions... which was only manageable with the filters. My only requests would be that anything that starts as "WTB," "WTS," "WTT" etc. should automatically default to the trade channel, and also a user ignore filter.

ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouTh ankYouThankYou!

- the mini-vault available. I'm kind of wondering if the contents are supposed to teleport from city to city. But the alternative would be that we'd have a hundred vaults with perhaps too unlimited storage. I'd also like to see gold storage.

PleasePleasePleasePleasePleasePlease!

Some changes to dyes: better availability, the ability to dye different material zones (instead of just the trim color of a tunic, etc.), and logical mixing (i.e. red + yellow = orange; perhaps the primaries can be more readily available / cheaper and the rarer ones can be worked toward by intermixing? ... i.e. red + green = brown, brown + blue = black). And white dyes?

ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouTh ankYouThankYou!

- For bags and belts as commodities which can be equipped, unequipped, sold, etc.

PleasePleasePleasePleasePleasePlease!

It is my hope that once one has gone through the Academy previously, there will be an optional accelerated startup for future characters to 'port into Post-searing Ascalon at level 5. Preferably with about 30 gold to buy some starter skills or 5-7 skills (and a Rez signet) being purchasable at no cost.

ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouTh ankYouThankYou!

For a brilliant, well-designed game with endless depth and always something new to explore.

Suggestions for expansions:

The ability to play evil, complete with story arc and missions. Maybe also play as Charr, dark elf, etc. and a thief or assassin class.

Also, when people play Primary-only, no secondary profession, I think it'd be great if they eventually get an opportunity to learn a master spell (perhaps in a quest involved). (Link to that original thread with Master Spell suggestions)

GvG battles r too long, I've played a lot and lasted from 8 mins to 50 mins! (mostly 20+ mins)
Raise autorez timer to 2.30 or 3 min?
Less guards in the hall?
After 30+mins of fight becomes boring imo..

Edit: Add a key to istaswitch camera to target/direction u r going to (default "d" key of daoc -.-), add possibility of putting down/up view on keyboard instead of mouse only; thx bye.

P.S. U r going right way

Default Just some small suggestions...

I'm happy I got this game in time for the last BWE. The gameplay is easy to learn but hard to master, the graphics are very nice, and an overall fun experience. It's fun watching newbs play with emotes...

However, I do have some small changes I would like to see.
1] Lengthen the female Mesmer's /dance emote. Everyone else gets a longer one; why not her? Maybe you should make it a little more provacative to keep up with the other female classes. e_e [by the way, I <3 the Mesmer. What a coincidence, I play blue in MtG, too...]
2] Dye. Please make it drop more often, purchasable in stores, or sell for more. I have had people give me their dyes because no one wanted it and it wasn't worth selling.
3] Allow a little more ease and flexibility in the creation of our character's appeance. This goes well with my last point. If you want people to be able to be as unique from each other as you advertise, it should be easier to look different from others. Some suggestions in creation include
-allowing alternate starting attire. Different costumes would be cool. However, this only helps you in the early game.
-allow different "body structures." Even though it is a game, some people might want a large man or slimmer woman. However, this could lead to some very strange-looking characters [imagine an overweight female elementalist o_O].
-allow the sharing of faces and/or hairstyles from across all the classes. This would add a lot of variety, as early game, this is all that sets you apart from others. However, this would also make character creation a much longer process.
However, I believe the easiest way to help set our characters apart is to make dye more accessible. Have it drop more often or available to buy at a fair price from a merchant in town. A further development on this idea is to have the basic colors in town, but have a special set of rare colors that only drop from monsters [ie black, white, metallics, rainbow, etc.].

Thank you for your time. I think it's awesome that a company interacts with its players and their input as much as you do.

EDIT: There must be a spam filter or anti-flood mechanism on the trade channel. It's idiotic when someone spams @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@2
until you want to spoon your eyes out.

EDIT2: Under 3], I'd like to also second the additon of optional facial hair [or more faces with hair].

EDIT3: After partaking in a Last Night BWE Dance Party, I have another suggestion:
Improve the underwear of the female classes that have the plain ones. I mean, the Elementalists get lace and the Mesmers get purple and gold. Do something special for the other ladies.

EDIT4: Newcomers will have trouble with Pretty Ascalon if it stays as is.
-after your first level up, show them the Hero Screen. I've met people who have never used an attribute point. If I didn't read up on all the games I play, I wouldn't have known, either.
-make it very clear that a secondary class will hurt you in no way, for there is no benefit in having only one.
-make it so you can rearrange your skills before you have 8 skills. It's a pain reaching 7 and 8 to pull off a Sever Artery / Gash combo while your fingers are on WASD.

EDIT5: Please raise the party limit throughout the game. I just got three friends into this game, and would be delighted if we could all do Pretty Ascalon together. A larger party size on post-searing Ascalon and beyond would be nice as well.

Default My one suggestion

I would like to have an option available on the character selection portion of the game to choose what district you'd like to enter prior to entering the world.

This is problematic because I found myself 99.9% of the time loading in, and then going to a different district to meet up with people.

It would allow guilds or pre-planned group outtings to save some load time and make the game that much more fluid.

The simple drop down menu that you currently have along side the character you've chosen to play would go a long way to making load times easier on us all.

Lightbulb April Suggestions Thread

I would like to suggest a few things.

1) That more than just the original (Primary) skill trainer tell where to find the second trainer for the same Profession.

2) That the "Win Conditions" text box for PvP have a close button.
(It blocks your vision when some of the more agressive teams attack as soon as the door opens.)

3) The chat options be sticky across the account.

4) A 4 member "Select Your Team" arena.

5) An arena with :Most Wins in Set Time".
(The initial PvP introduction fight style is never available again. )

-Thank you-

Please allow the ability to "duel" or 1v1... or perhaps a place in the guild hall where you can spar guildmates. It's really fun to be able to share builds with friends and right now that's just not possible.

Oh yeah, and the ability to automatically skip intros after the first time you've seen them.

Default PVP Suggestions

1) Penalize players who logout/leave during the beginning or middle of a PVP match. 9 out of the 10 teams I'm randomly sent into (and even in Tombs, when creating a team) loose half their player count through the process of the match. Now, I know there aren't that many people having computer problems. When it happens during the middle, it's usually the first time someone dies (onos! I'm t3h dead!! All is l0st!!!11), or when it appears that the other team is stronger. Goodness, do people give up this easily? Anyways, I suggest the following penalty:

A player who leaves a PVP match at some point receives a 5-10 minute ban from further PVP matches. That is, they can't do any pvp until the wait is over. Continual griefers could receive XP point penalties.

2) Please stop the spawn camping in The Crag. I know this is not a First Person Shooter, but this map is modeled a lot like a glorified CTF game. It's annoying to have the team die off, and then while you're waiting to respawn you suddenly notice that...hey...the entire other team is sitting in our spawn! Good gaming adminstrator organizations/communities ban for this sort of action...and it's not fair here, either, when the people being camped have a death penalty. What I suggest is that you keep the other team from being able to run into or near the area via a "barrier" that lasts for 15-30 seconds, but also keep the team that's spawned from attacking inside said barrier. If a teammate leaves the barrier before the seconds is up, they cannot return inside, as well.

3) Please auto-mute spammers after X amount of spams in X amount of seconds. I've been on teams where someone thinks their bind is the coolest, and they spam it so fast that our team conversation cannot be read, only the spam. It'd be handy if they were auto-muted. I'm not aware if a mute function exists in game, but whilst combat is progressing an auto-mute feature makes it so much easier and "hands free".

Thanks for your time and for reading this!

I would love to see player stores, for both Buying and Selling. This was an immense hit in Lineage II (Good job NCSoft on that one, too :-)) and it made it incredibly easy to find the items you were looking for, or even to set up shop and sell your crafting items while you were eating dinner away from the computer. Then players looking for something (such as dye) can shop around, looking at the players' store titles (that they provide, such as "DYE: 10Gold") and checking the prices, always getting the best deal. It also helps the game economy as players can find cheap dyes, buy them, and sell them for more at their own store.

The graphics are wonderful by the way! Love the map traveling and most of the missions so far. Still figuring this world out/having some fun....

Some suggestions:

*Music... and Chat pop up sounds for guilds/teams: Alot of the time I would be PvPing and look down to see someone was basically screaming at our team with tips and tactics... we were mostly oblivious because of the fun chaos.

**PVP: I would really LOVE to see an option where you can enter into a competitive mission (like the Crag) with a friend or two (enter as an imcomplete party) so that you will be fighting with them ... my friend and I would first go to the same district, then hit our enter mission buttons praying we would be together on the SAME side. If not, we were very tempted and usually did log out and try again and again. This may be part of the problem why people are dropping missions. We want to fight along our friends... more fun that way.

*More Emotes: Kind of unusual that some emotes are not in game. Like hi/hello, hug, cry, bye and such, especially a /em for our own emotes/what we're doing. ALSO, would like to target a person or creature and have that emote relate to them. (John points at Jazune. -That type of thing.)

I noticed some of my other suggestions have already appeared here in the thread. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Just a few quick things that I would like to suggest:

More character setup features, such as facial hair, etc.

I'd also like better party controls. Maybe have a captain who can kick out/add new members.

I also think a share quest option would be beneficial.

Would it also be possible to allow people to watch GvG and PvP matches?

Default April BWE Feedback/Suggestions

Is there no thread for this yet? I did not see one of the first two pages of this forum. Anyway, here goes:

1) Pathing problems. I found myself stuck a lot in PvE this BWE because of pathing/collision issues with other players and enemy creatures (all PvE related). In many cases, my character was getting "hung up" trying to run around enemies. Additionally, there were 3 or 4 instances where I became stuck in the landscape as a result of sporadic and slight warping.

2) Did you remove short sword drops from the game? This is one my favorite weapons and not a single one dropped all weekend, literally (that's with a new character from level 1 to level 15).

3) The new colors for player names help a lot ... can you make guild members and friends names a special color too? Like RED or PURPLE or DARK GREEN?

4) Linen as a commody is too rare.

5) Between the levels of 1 and 9, I picked up probably 10 - 15 dye. From 10 to 15, I found maybe two. Drop rate problem? Or just extremely lucky/unlucky?

6) There's no way to seperate stacked items in your inventory. Related to this is the fact that you cannot sell a specific quantity of stacked items to an outfitter. This was a hard lesson learned when I mistakenly sold 180 bolts of raw cloth (ouchie).

7) The account-based vault is awesome! Can you make it so money can be shared across the account too? People are still going to give their new toons money and "twink" them ... might as well facilitate the functionality and spare everyone the trouble of having somebody "help" them do it.

My suggestion: Release the game sooner, it's perfect already

To be honest, it was quite disappointing that there weren't any earth/water-magic trainers in pre-Ascalon, I wanted to go with Water Magic this BWE but had to use Flares all the time while having all attribute points in E.Storage and Water Magic, 16 damage max. won't take out Black Bears too fast ....atleast 2 skills from EACH element should be there...

A chat mode with a limited range, like the typical mmorpg "say" command. Towns are big enough that I occasionally run into groups of strangers who I'd like to be able to talk to, without having to either send whispers to them or spam everyone in the district with our conversation. This is a very big one for many of the people I know, because they're very into the social side of online games and find it dissapointing that (not counting team and guild) you're forced to either have a conversation that everyone in town can hear, or stick to a completely private chat with a single individual.

A Walk/Run toggle. I know this isn't really necessary, but it'd be very nice to have and quite a few people seem to want it. Walking already exists anyway, so you may as well let us do it when we want to.

I'd like to be able to change which of my characters is designated the Official guild leader. I created my guild with a character who's now deleted, but even though he's gone, his name is still attached to all official actions such as announcements, guild invites, etc. It's pretty frustrating that the "Guild Master" is a character who doesn't even exist anymore and there's nothing I can do about it.

I'd like to see a few faces with beards and mustaches available for the warrior.

It would be nice if we could dye more than just the trim on our armor. Being able to dye the entire piece of armor (or at least, most of it) with two different colors would make for some interesting looks. Some pieces aren't changed nearly enough when the dye is applied.

Guild capes just don't look right with certain pieces of male ranger, mesmer (and, arguably, male elementalist) armor. I'm talking, obviously, about the coats that come with some of the chest pieces. It'd be nice to either have a way to toggle capes off, or have the emblem display on the back of the coat when wearing these types of armor.

Ya. My only real suggestion is that when in a group doing a quest that requires a boss like monster to be killed for a quest item drop, or a box to be opened, that a copy of the quest item drops for each member of the group. It is very annoying to think you're completing a quest with a group so that everyone benifits to find that only one item drops. And that it is randomly signed to someone, and they are the only person who can complete the quest. So then the quest has to be redone once for every other member of the group. Which is kind of a hassle, and who really wants to do a quest four times in a row to make sure its fair for everybody. Sometimes a person in the group won't have the quest though, because they completed it already or something, so maybe if it just dropped one of the quest items for every member that has the quest.

The other suggestion, which has already been mentioned a few times by some other people on many of the Suggestion Threads, is the group limit in Pre-Searing Ascalon should be more than only two people. Several of my friends have gotten the pre-order and were playing this past weekend, but I can only group with one at a time until after Ascalon is destroyed.

So ya, those are my only two suggestions. Thanks for listening, and great game otherwise.

Default Suggestions

* Would be great to be able to dye underwear; Elementalist purple underwear is about the silliest looking thing ever.

* More character creation options: multiple body types for each class, more colors, more hair, more faces, more everything.

* The ability to mark the map with notes would be great. It's really hard to remember where various collectors or possible future quest goals are sometimes.
